We begin by removing 99% of bonded paint contaminates with a chemical paint decontamination process and aggressive automotive clay bar. The average soap, rinse and repeat cannot remove the many different types of paint contaminates such as: dirt, tar, break dust, bugs, tree sap, bird droppings, etc. Paint contaminations easily dry and adhere to paint by driving and sitting in the sun. Modern Vehicle Care carefully uses a wide variety of vehicle decontamination products like clay bars and iron removers to eliminate paint contaminates safely.
Paint decontamination is extremely important for optimal paint correction results. This crucial detailing process will reveal the true condition of a vehicle’s paint finish. Once decontamination is complete, the vehicle is then re-inspected with multiple high lumen detailing lights to find and note all visible paint defects to be corrected during the paint correction process. Finally, sensitive areas of the vehicle are precisely taped-off with automotive grade masking tape and Paint Correction can begin!
Paint Correction is the use of machine compounding and polishing to cut through 95% of surface imperfections like unsightly swirl marks and scratches to reveal a shiny, sharp paint reflection. Many of these paint defects occur from daily wear-and-tear of a vehicle; from driving through dusty environments, brushes at an automatic car wash, or reusing or not using the proper cloth while caring for the vehicle. Overtime, the build-up of swirls and scratches diminishes the shine & luster of a vehicle’s paint finish. During each stage of paint correction, a minimum of 30 minutes is spent on each panel of the vehicle. This time can vary depending on the amount of flaws in the vehicle’s paint finish.
